Mask Update & COVID-19 Protocols

As of mid-February 2022, masks at Hilbert College are optional for all parties.

If you have been diagnosed with COVID-19, please notify your team coach ASAP so they can let the rest of the team know and follow Erie County Health Department's guidance for isolation. If you have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, we follow the Erie County Health Department's guidance as well. That information can be found here: https://www2.erie.gov/health/index.php?q=ecdoh-covid-19-isolation-and-quarantine-documents

Indoor House League Overview

What is the Indoor House League?
Our Indoor House League is a recreational co-ed program for children who are born from 2012- 2018. This program runs on Sundays from 1/23/22-4/3/22 at Hilbert College.

The program is designed to teach children the basics of soccer while also having fun. Our main goal is to help develop basic skills through instruction and activities. The first 30 minutes is for the technical aspect of the game (foot skills) and soccer related games/activities.  The second 30 minutes is for small-sided soccer games. The players are divided into teams randomly each week. This allows coaches to even out teams and players as needed. We try to make sure every player experiences some challenges and some success as too much of either is not good for player enjoyment or development. No experience is necessary to join the league.

***We are excited to announce a partnership with Hilbert College for our Indoor House League! We will be using Hilbert's facilities to run our indoor programming and their Men's and Women's Soccer teams will be coaching our leagues. We look forward to a great season ahead!

First Night Information

What do I do the first day of soccer?
If you are entering the Hilbert campus from South Park Avenue, make a right at the first stop sign, drive past the McGrath Library on the left, and then you will see Lot D on your left. That is where is the Hafner Recreation Center is located. You may park there or another adjacent lot. You may enter the building from either the front door or the doors on the right hand side of the building.

Once inside, you will see a registration table outside or directly inside of the gym. Be sure to check your child in there for the first session only. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time. Each session, players will need to wear/bring shin guards, soccer socks, proper footwear (sneakers), gym/athletic shorts, water, & a soccer ball; size 3 ball for U4-U6 & size 4 ball for U8-U10. Players will receive a soccer shirt from us.

Anything else I need to know for the first day?
The season begins 1/23/21 and ends 4/3/21. The scheduled soccer dates are 1/23, 1/30, 2/6, 2/13, 2/27, 3/13, 3/20, 3/27, 4/3. Reminder that as our coaches work the Buffalo Bills homes games, soccer will be cancelled if we are playing a home playoff game and we will attempt to reschedule.

Parents /guardians should remain with their minor children for the duration of the soccer session.

For the safety of all players, if it is wet or snowy outside, players should wear boots and change into sneakers in the hallway as to not make the gym floor wet.

As inclement weather approaches, please note that if the Hilbert Campus is closed, soccer must be cancelled for the day. If soccer is cancelled, it will be posted on our Facebook page, the homepage of the website, and a newsletter email will be sent out to parents as soon as we are made aware of the cancellation.

Any questions, comments, or concerns regarding the league or the coaches should all be directed to Caitlin Pauszek at [email protected] and she will address them. Concerns should not be addressed with your child's coaches in front of the children.

Please review the following rules. Failure to abide by the rules may result in removal from the league:

1. Please do not pass or kick soccer balls in the hallway, this may only be done in the gymnasium.

2. Players and parents should not enter any rooms or offices in the building aside from the gymnasium and restrooms. Please clean up any garbage you have brought into the building.

3. COVID-19 Policies are mandated by the State, County, and both the College’s and the Soccer Club’s governing bodies and insurance agencies so they must be adhered to by all. As the policies may change frequently, updated policies will be posted here. As of now, anyone over 2 years of age must wear a mask in the building. When on the field of play only, players do not have to wear a mask if they cannot tolerate it. They must still however, wear a mask in the bathrooms, hallway, and any other common areas.

Registration

When does registration begin/end?
Registration begins on October 29, 2021 and closes January 2, 2022. As space is extremely limited and the group sizes are small, we recommend registering early!

How do I register for the program?
To register online, please log in or create an account (in the upper right corner of the homepage). Select the "Register Now" button to sign up for the  Indoor House League Season. The computer system will walk you through the registration process and payment section.

How do I know which age group to register for?
Based on regulations by New York State West, age groups are determined ONLY by your child's birth year. Our Indoor House League includes the following age brackets: U4 (born in 2018) , U6 (born in 2016 OR 2017), U8 (born in 2014 OR 2015), & U10 (born in 2012 OR 2013). The computer will direct you to the age group your child is eligible to participate in. Some age groups/days tend to fill up quickly. If you do not see the day you want upon registration, please email Caitlin at [email protected]

What if the group I want to register for is full?
We will place players on a waiting list if they group they want to register for is full. Players on the waiting list will be contacted if/when a spot opens up to accept the position. Please email Caitlin Pauszek at [email protected] if you are interested in being on the waiting list.

What's next?

All players must be registered on the website and paid in full to be eligible to play in the league. Your space is reserved once full payment is received.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I drop my child off each night or should I stay with them?
All players need to have a parent, guardian, family member, or family friend there with them each night. We are there to coach soccer and we can't keep an accounting of children if they need to use the restroom or get a drink from the drinking fountain. Parents can sit on the sidelines of the gym and watch as their children play. Parents are welcome to bring folding chairs as well.

What team will I be on?
For our Indoor House League, all children in each age group will be on the same team and divided up each night when it comes time to play the small sided games.

Who will coach?

For our Indoor House League, we use Hilbert College Men's and Women's Soccer Players to train players. These coaches all have a strong soccer background and look forward to coaching your children this year.

How do I know if soccer is cancelled on a given night?
If Hilbert College asks us to cancel due to inclement weather, soccer will be canceled that evening. If soccer is canceled, we will post on the website and Facebook. We will also send out an email to families as soon as possible. If, at any point, you believe it is unsafe to travel (due to weather conditions), please refrain from bringing your child to soccer for the night.

For the most part, there will be no make-up dates due to weather cancelations. If soccer is canceled many times, we will make every effort to schedule a make-up date if there is an opportunity to rent out more gym space.

Any other important information I need to know?
We must abide by the following rules to continue to rent out the gym space:

1. Please do not pass or kick soccer balls in the hallway, this may only be done in the gymnasium.

2. Players and parents should not enter any rooms or offices in the building aside from the gymnasium and restrooms. Please clean up any garbage you have brought into the building.

3. If it is wet outside, please wear boots and bring sneakers to play in. It is dangerous for players to be playing on a wet gym floor.

4. Parents or guardians should remain in the building with their minor children throughout the duration of the practice.

5. COVID-19 Policies are mandated by the State, County, and both the College’s and the Soccer Club’s governing bodies and insurance agencies so they must be adhered to by all. As the policies may change frequently, updated policies will be posted on the Indoor House League Page at www.hamburgsoccerclub.com. As of now, anyone over 2 years of age must wear a mask in the building. When on the field of play only, players do not have to wear a mask if they cannot tolerate it. They must still however, wear a mask in the bathrooms, hallway, and any other common areas.
