OUTDOOR HOUSE ONLINE REGISTRATION ENDED MAY 1st. WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING ANYMORE REGISTRATIONS.

We have listened to your comments and have brought back the parent coach for our co-ed Outdoor House League. Our house league, will again, depend on parents who volunteer to coach/assistant coach these teams. We will provide training (including a FREE coach's course) and curriculums for these volunteer coaches to help give them the tools to be successful. All teams will need a coach and assistant coach per team for the league to work. We will only be using coordinators to help with the overall programming. Coordinators are experienced high school and college aged players that have proven to work well with children.  Please contact Kris Eckert, doc@hamburgsoccerclub.com, for more information.

The House League is for anyone, regardless of the level of ability and experience. Everyone who joins the program should expect development of basic skills, teamwork, and having FUN! Previous knowledge of soccer is not necessary. All children WILL play at least 50% of every game. Coaches should focus on development, teaching the game, sportsmanship, making sure the players are having a good experience.  This league is not WIN/LOSS based.

If you are looking for more soccer, we suggest you inquire about our travel program.  More information is available on the travel page.

Please see the 2013 start dates for each house league below. Rosters and schedules will be posted prior to the first week of the league beginning.

Coordinators are experienced high school and college aged players that have proven to work well with children.

If you would like to volunteer, please state that you would like to volunteer in your account (upper right corner of website). We will be hosting a FREE Youth Module for those coaches that would like to learn more about how to properly run a practice and manage a game.   If you have questions in regards to coaching a team this summer, contact Kris Eckert at doc@hamburgsoccerclub.com.

These age groups follow USYSA recommended 30 minutes of instruction followed by 30 min for small sided games. Teams will be determined before the start of the season.

U10 (9/10 yr olds), U13 (11-13 yr olds), and U16 (14-16yr olds)

Volunteer coaches are needed for these age groups. Each team will need a volunteer coach (usually 10-12 coaches per age group) to run the practices and games. The practices will be held during the the first 2 weeks of the season. If you would like to volunteer, please state that you would like to volunteer in your account (upper right column). We will be hosting a FREE Youth Module for those coaches that would like to learn more about how to properly run a practice and manage a game.  If you have questions in regards to coaching a team this summer, contact Kris Eckert at doc@hamburgsoccerclub.com.

The leagues will practice for the first two weeks.  The age groups will also have house coordinators available to assist as needed.  Coordinators are experienced high school and college aged players that have proven to work well with children. Teams will be determined before the start of the season.

The U10-U16 leagues begin games the week of 5/28. Games will be 40 min (two 20 min halves). Teams will have 10-15 minutes warm-up prior to games. Volunteer coaches are needed for the recreational leagues. Volunteer link can be found after logging into the new website.

For these older age groups, due to our field space, we need the flexibility of utilizing both time slots to schedule games. This means that one week you might have a game at 6pm and the next week a game at 7:30pm. We are committed to making sure that all the teams have the opportunity to play at both 6pm and 7:30pm.

SMALL SIDED GAMES

What does "Small-Sided Games" mean? These are soccer games with fewer players competing on a smaller sized field. These are fun games that involve the players more because fewer players are sharing one ball.

All ages can play "Small Sided Games", but it has a definite developmental impact on our younger soccer players. US Youth Soccer recommendations for "number of players" at the various age groups are as follows:

U4 | 3 against 3 no goalkeepers
U6 | 3 against 3 no goalkeepers
U8 | 4 against 4 no goalkeepers
U10 | 6 against 6 with goalkeepers (7v7)
U13+ | 10 against 10 with goalkeepers (11v11)

1. Because we want our young soccer players to touch the soccer ball more often and become more skillful with it! (Individual technical development)

2. Because we want our young soccer players to make more, less-complicated decisions during the game! (Tactical development)

3. Because we want our young soccer players to be more physically efficient in the field space they are playing in! (Reduced field size)

4. Because we want our young soccer players to have more individual teaching time with the coach! Less players on the field and less players on the team will guarantee this! (Need to feel worthy and need to feel important)

5. Because we want our young soccer players to have more, involved playing time in the game! (More opportunity to solve problems that only the game presents)

6. Because we want our young soccer players to have more opportunity to play on both sides of the ball! (More exposure to attacking and defending situations)

7. Because we want our young soccer players to have more opportunities to score goals! (Pure excitement and building confidence)

These are the reasons why we adults must foster "Small-Sided Games" in our youth soccer programs. The "Small-Sided" environment is a developmentally appropriate environment for our young soccer players. It's a FUN environment that focuses on the young soccer player.
